Edukasi Compelementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Therapies pada Masyarakat Penyandang Hipertensi

Abstract

Hipertensi menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan tertinggi di desa Pamboborang. Hipertensi dapat diatasi dengan farmakalogi mapun nonfarmakologi seperti complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies. CAM therapies terbukti mampu menurunkan hipertensi, namun penggunaan CAM therapies di masyarakat masih sangat kurang karena kurangnya pengetahuan, sementara di sisi lain CAM therapies efektif dan minim efek samping. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang CAM therapies dalam menurunkan tekanan darah. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan melalui sosialisasi dan edukasi kesehatan. hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan didapatkan edukasi kesehatan dengan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, penggunaan media powerpoint serta demonstrasi mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta. Hal ini terlihat pada hasil uji statistik McNemar Test didapatkan p<0,05 dan terdapat peningkatan jumlah peserta dari 58.1% (kategori sedang) meningkat menjadi 93.5% (kategori tinggi). Peningkatan hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa edukasi melalui powerpoint presentation, video serta roleplay dan pengisian kuesioner pre-post test dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terkait CAM therapies. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi tentang penyakit hipertensi dan penggunaan CAM therapies yang dapat diterapkan untuk membantu masyarakat menangani hipertensi.
